So, I've had the busiest December ever!
The first week I spent worrying whether my Methods exam had gone well (it was on November 29th) and studying for the JLPT (Japanese Language Proficiency Test) which was on Sunday 5th – I won't know whether I passed the latter till someday in March, but I think I did okay. It's strange, I can read and understand an okay lot of Japanese by now, but my spoken is still not very good, I think. I need to practice.
Second week. Studying for my oral Japanese exam on Friday 10th. I got a 4. A little disappointed, but then again, the highest grade given was 7, except for a couple of special cases (meant in a good way) who got a 12. I think I could have gotten a 7 if we were supposed to be speaking in informal speech since I've gotten better at that then at the formal speech …
Third week. Writing Asian Societies from a Comparative Perspective (aka Sociologi) exam paper from Tuesday 14th to Friday 17th. I have no idea yet how that one went, though I think I did a good job on the assignment. I don't think we'll get our grades till sometime in January, though, so I'll just have to wait.
Fourth week. Work, work, work, and a couple of appointments with friends (Wonderful Zaki stopped by my job one day to give me my Christmas present <3 And I had dinner with Sophie one of the other days, while celebrating me finally sending my novels to a publisher). I got my grade from Methods as well, a 10, which was very unexpected, but a lovely surprise indeed!
Yet, I felt so stressed! Even though my last Christmas shopping was done on Tuesday 21st and I always enjoy my time with friends, having many hours of work left me so exhausted on the 23rd, especially because I wasn't able to go home that evening (I was off work at 10.30 pm) due to the snow. I was so worried I wouldn't get home for Christmas!
Also, all through December I had work 3-4 times a week. Most shifts, luckily, weren't that many hours, but it was still time I could have spent studying. Don't get me wrong, I love my job, but my study just has to take first priority if I wanna do good.
Anyway, on the 24th I got up early after sleeping over at Li-chan's place and went to Copenhagen Central Station to catch a train at 9.11 am. Normally, getting from Copenhagen and to my parents' place on Falster takes approximately two hours, but I wasn't home till 2.45 pm! That's almost six hours! First, the train was going very slowly due to the snow, then I had to wait for an hour to catch a bus, and then my dad walked (5-6 km) to Stubbekøbing to come and pick me up. Or, well, 'pick me up' is a wrong choice of words, seeing as we walked all the way back to the house through enormous masses of snow because cars simply couldn't get through the snow. So yeah, now I've tried that as well, haha.
And now, on my birthday, I'm lying on the couch, with a fever. I think it's from exhaustion. But it's fine; I'm at home with my family so I'm getting spoiled, yay! Plus, I got so many lovely greetings from people!
I couldn't be happier!
And so, with this, I wish you all a belated Merry Christmas, and a Happy New Year! Looking forward to New Year's Eve! <3 Sometime soon, though, I'll have to start reading for my Economics exam which is on January 7th. Wish me luck!
